Finally, an answer

In February 2024, after months of misdiagnosis and unanswered questions, I was finally diagnosed with Wilson's Disease.

The news hit me hard.

For so long, I knew something wasn't right. Finally having an answer brought a mixture of relief, fear, and uncertainty.

I was overwhelmed. My world had changed overnight, and I had no idea what life with Wilson's Disease would look like.

Looking for Support

I searched for a tool that did not exist

Like many newly diagnosed patients, I turned to the internet. I looked for something that could help me track symptoms, remember medication, monitor my health, and make sense of what I was experiencing.

I couldn't find any tool.

I remember asking my neurologist if there was an app specifically designed for people living with Wilson's Disease.

His answer was simple

“No, unfortunately.”

That moment stayed with me.

The Daily Reality

The challenges were not mine alone

As I learned to live with the condition, I realized that many of the difficulties I faced were shared by other patients.

01

Remembering symptoms during medical appointments

02

Worrying about missed medication

03

Managing changes to speech

04

Feeling isolated, frustrated, and overwhelmed

Then a thought occurred to me

If the app I needed didn't exist, why couldn't I build it myself?

Pen and paper

The first version of the idea

I grabbed a pen and paper and started writing. I wrote down:

  • Every challenge I faced
  • Every symptom I wanted to track
  • Every reminder I needed
  • Every feature that could make daily life easier

What started as a list of problems slowly became a vision

Track My Copper was created to turn the challenges of living with Wilson's Disease into practical tools, clearer routines, and a stronger sense of community.
